Mitsubishi CVTs shudder, whine and overheat under load. The Outlander and Lancer are the ones we see most. Fresh fluid on time keeps them going. We test the CVT and change the fluid.
Timing belt on older four cylinders
Mitsubishi four cylinders up to about 2010 used a timing belt. Some also have a balance shaft belt. If either one snaps, the engine is hurt. We replace the belts, tensioner and water pump together.
Oxygen sensor failure
An oxygen sensor reads the exhaust for the engine computer. Mitsubishi sensors fail and set a check engine light. Gas mileage drops too. We replace the sensor and clear the code.
Oil leaks
The valve cover gasket and cam seals leak on many Mitsubishi engines. Oil drips onto the exhaust. We reseal them.
Crank walk on the old Eclipse turbo

I bought a 2008 Mini Cooper S. Clubman about a month ago. I replaced just about everything on the engine to no avail. It just would not idle like it should. I determined it was a bad timing chain. As it turned out I was right. I took it to James who agreed and he had his technician Tony replace the timing chain components. They went the extra mile to remove the oil pan and remove the chewed up debris from the oil pump screen. It now runs like a brand new car! Thanks to them, I'll enjoy this car for many years to come. Great service and very polite. Very knowledgeable too.
