Meet James Miner
James Miner is the owner of Athens Import Auto Repair. He is an ASE Master Technician. That is the highest level a mechanic can earn from ASE. He has worked on foreign cars since 1972. That is more than 50 years of hands-on work.
The shop opened on Winterville Road in 1991. James has run it for decades. The goal has never changed. Import owners get honest answers and expert work without the dealer runaround.
You will see James in the shop every day. He talks to customers himself. He looks at your car himself. When you call, you get a straight answer from someone who knows your brand.

Inside the shop
Our shop sits at 835 Winterville Rd on the east side of Athens, near Athens Ben Epps Airport. We have a clean shop with lifts and the scan tools your import needs.
On any given day you might see a Mercedes-Benz ML, a Mini Cooper, a BMW 6 Series, a classic Porsche 944 or an old Toyota Land Cruiser on our lifts. New or old, we take care of them all.

Beckler, D.I bought a 2008 Mini Cooper S. Clubman about a month ago. I replaced just about everything on the engine to no avail. It just would not idle like it should. I determined it was a bad timing chain. As it turned out I was right. I took it to James who agreed and he had his technician Tony replace the timing chain components. They went the extra mile to remove the oil pan and remove the chewed up debris from the oil pump screen. It now runs like a brand new car! Thanks to them, I'll enjoy this car for many years to come. Great service and very polite. Very knowledgeable too.
